    STAGES OF THE SUGAR PRODUCTION PROCESS

     

    01-CANE RECEPTION

    Upon arrival at the plant, the cane is weighed and analyzed to determine sucrose content from sample, then sent to a downloading area at the factory and immediately undergoes a washing process.


    02-MILLING

    The cane is ground for juice; it goes onto sugar production and the bagasse is used to generate bioelectricity.


    03-JUICE TREATMENT

    The juice goes through heating, chemical treatment, decanting and sifting as to remove impurities.


    04-EVAPORATION

    More than 75% of the water is removed, forming a concentrated syrup.


    05-COOKING

    Crystallization and syrup sucrose recovery are performed then transformed into a mass.


    06-CENTRIFUGATION

    The physical separation of sugar.
    At this stage sugar is washed with hot water and steam. A by-product called molasse is obtained and forwarded to ethanol production.


    07-REFINING

    This stage is exclusively done at our mills, which produces refined sugar, obtained through a new dissolution, cooking and centrifugation as to meet much of the export market specifications.


    08-DRYING

    The ideal humidity of sugar is reached and then it is sieved.


    09-MATURATION

    At our mills we have implemented an innovative stage, in which we adequate the balance between sugar temperature and air moisture, as to avoid sugar aggregation.


    10-LEAVE

    Sugar is ready to be put into 50kg bags or big bag.
